Global Defense Initiatives, Inc. Launches Product Offering into Commercial Markets at SHOT Show 2013

Temecula, CA (January 2, 2013) – Global Defense Initiatives, Inc. is a California-based leader and subject-matter-expert in the manufacture and development of innovative, technologically advanced mounting solutions  for weapon optics, and laser aiming / imaging devices.  GDI has been working directly with U.S. Military units for over 10 years and is now bringing their products to civilian shooters through retail and wholesale distribution channels.

GDI is excited to deliver this new offering to shooters nationwide through their U.S. distribution channels.  Having secured multiple contracts with the U.S. Military, their battle proven mounts are precision engineered to ensure ultra-repeatability, reliability and durability.  All GDI mounts are designed for use on M1913 Picatinny Rail Systems with  most major brands of optics and sights.

“GDI products have been proven in overseas operations over the last 8 years.  We are excited to offer the same products to civilian shooters throughout the U.S.,” says Marco Gonzalez, CEO, former U.S. Navy SEAL, and the innovation behind the products.  “Shooters invest so much into their optics, but neglect the importance of the interface to their rifle; we have spent 10 years engineering the details about that for them.”

Among many virtues, GDI’s Auto-Locking Quick Detach (ALQD™) Lever System brings one-handed mounting and dis-mounting to the user.  Our quick detach (ALQD™) lever mechanism automatically locks and engages the rail when closed to secure the optic to weapon.
GDI is actively looking for dealers and wholesaler partners.  Independent retailers who would like to become authorized resellers may contact GDI Engineering at info@gdiengineering.com, or visit www.gdiengineering.com.

Founded in 2002, Global Defense Initiatives, Inc. (GDI) is a US based, veteran owned, small business, specializing in the development and manufacturing of precision sight mount interface devices used for weapon system platforms.  With combat proven performance, engineering excellence, and superior functionality as the company’s hallmarks, GDI is recognized as subject-matter-experts throughout the defense industry and U.S. military.

What Would You Like To Know About GDI Mounts?

In the coming weeks and months, we’ll be putting out articles and videos featuring GDI mounts. While these features will explain the versatility and robust nature of our products, we’re interested to hear from customers and potential customers about what they want to hear or see. What do you know about our mounts, and what don’t you know, or what are you not sure about? Return to zero? Ease of adjustment? Long-term wear on rails compared to competing mounts?

Let us know, and we’ll get to work.

Help GDI Support the Lone Survivor Foundation

GDI has pledged to donate 20% of all online sales through June 17th, 2012 (Father’s Day) to the Lone Survivor Foundation. Founded in 2010 by Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell, author of the new book Service, the Lone Survivor Foundation “restores, empowers, and renews hope for our wounded warriors and their families through health, wellness, and therapeutic support.”

Some of the goals of the Lone Survivor Foundation include:

  • Building a nationally recognized therapeutic ranch facility that supports wounded warriors and their
families affected by Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and serious combat injury.
  • Emphasize the use of natural settings and outdoor activities to heal and empower wounded
warriors and their families through targeted recreational and sports therapy opportunities.
  • Reduce the wounded service members need for narcotic pain management.
  • Stabilize and enhance family structures and relationships through education, counseling, support,
and inspiration using short-term retreats and medium-term in-house care and advocacy programs.
  • Identify, connect with, and establish therapeutic support for wounded warrior families that have,
for whatever reason, stalled in their healing process with primary government care systems.
  • Collaborate with recognized government and non-profit agencies to provide wounded warrior
families the proper resources for their needs.
GDI is proud to assist the Lone Survivor Foundation by donating a significant portion of our online sales to their cause – and by continuing to support America’s warfighters by producing the world’s best optic mounts.
