Help GDI Support the Lone Survivor Foundation

GDI has pledged to donate 20% of all online sales through June 17th, 2012 (Father’s Day) to the Lone Survivor Foundation. Founded in 2010 by Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell, author of the new book Service, the Lone Survivor Foundation “restores, empowers, and renews hope for our wounded warriors and their families through health, wellness, and therapeutic support.”

Some of the goals of the Lone Survivor Foundation include:

  • Building a nationally recognized therapeutic ranch facility that supports wounded warriors and their
families affected by Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and serious combat injury.
  • Emphasize the use of natural settings and outdoor activities to heal and empower wounded
warriors and their families through targeted recreational and sports therapy opportunities.
  • Reduce the wounded service members need for narcotic pain management.
  • Stabilize and enhance family structures and relationships through education, counseling, support,
and inspiration using short-term retreats and medium-term in-house care and advocacy programs.
  • Identify, connect with, and establish therapeutic support for wounded warrior families that have,
for whatever reason, stalled in their healing process with primary government care systems.
  • Collaborate with recognized government and non-profit agencies to provide wounded warrior
families the proper resources for their needs.
GDI is proud to assist the Lone Survivor Foundation by donating a significant portion of our online sales to their cause – and by continuing to support America’s warfighters by producing the world’s best optic mounts.

Brandon Webb – Navy SEAL Sniper, Entrepreneur, Author

You may have heard the name Brandon Webb before. He’s the founder of SOFREP.com, an internet resource about US and allied special operations forces run exclusively by former special operations personnel; before that, he was a Navy SEAL, not only deploying with SEAL Team 3, but also serving as Course Manager for the SEAL Sniper program, which is in itself the achievement of a lifetime.

Not content to rest on his laurels, he’s recently written a book, called The Red Circle, which details the journey he took to become a SEAL, including dealing with significant adversity in his youth. The book moves on to cover his deployments to the Persian Gulf and Afghanistan, as well as his post-military employment with a federal agency.

While most people who pick up a copy of his book are probably going to be interested in the BUD/S training, combat deployment, and sniper training portions, chances are that people from all walks of life could benefit from the portions of the book in which Webb chronicles how he dealt with many of the personal challenges he has faced in his life.

The Red Circle is available on Amazon.com and currently has a 4.9 out of 5 star customer review average; 62 out of the 67 reviewers gave it 5 stars. In addition, it has received praise from other SEALs such as Chris Kyle, author of American Sniper; Richard Marcinko, author of Rogue Warrior; Marcus Luttrell, author of Lone Survivor; and other extremely experienced individuals.  It obviously comes highly recommended and from a vetted source; those interested in any of the topics it covers would do well to pick it up.
