An AR-15 rifle has an ejection port cover, also referred to as a dust cover, which serves to keep dirt and debris out of the action when the weapon is being fired. ADCOR Defense has taken this not one, but two steps farther.
On the outside, a polymer ejection port cover provides a better seal and keeps out more junk – this type of cover, although of the standard design, is also used on the HK416.
On the inside, a “shield” has been added to the bolt carrier, which seals against the inside of the upper receiver and prevents a lot of dust from entering the action even when the ejection port cover is open.
What do you think? Have you used the ADCOR system?
